Procedural Overview

- Preparation: The penis is then cleaned and Hibiclens is applied. After this a topical numbing cream is applied and a local anesthetic is injected into the penis. At this time, we give you two oral medications, an antibiotic to reduce infection and tadalafil to reduce retraction.
- Injection Process: Voluma is injected along the shaft of the penis. The injections are done along the shaft in a space under the skin but above the erectile bodies of the penis Dr. Sullivan carefully avoids the very top where the nerves and arteries of the penis are and very bottom of the penis where the urethra is located.
- Post-Treatment Care: Patients can resume normal activities that day but are asked to avoid sexual activities for 2 weeks. We will provide you with compression sleeve dressings, antimicrobial wash and an antibiotic cream to use. You will be asked to change the dressing and apply the cream twice daily. It takes about a week for the majority of the Voluma to smooth out, but in some patients, it may take 3-4 weeks to completely smooth out.
- Follow-up: A follow-up appointment is usually scheduled at 6-8 weeks to assess the results and correct any unevenness. If necessary, touch-up injections might be done during the follow-up.
The enhancement procedure with Voluma is straightforward. The entire visit takes roughly an hour. You will have minimal downtime and immediate results.
