Scrotal Enhancement
Scrotal Enhancement
The scrotum, a pouch-like skin structure beneath the penis, houses the testicles. It comprises several layers of tissue, including the outermost skin layer and multiple underlying layers of connective tissue known as ‘fascia’, beneath which the testicles reside.
Scrotal enhancement aims to modify the size, shape, and tension of the scrotal skin area. It involves injecting filler material into the scrotal skin, which eventually stimulates collagen formation and enlargement. Importantly, the filler is inserted into the skin, not near the testicles, ensuring that the filler never comes into contact with them.
The images below illustrate a patient’s condition before and after scrotal enhancement. Notably, the post-treatment photo depicts a fuller and larger scrotal area, and the previously visible contraction is no longer present. This smoother, relaxed appearance demonstrates how fillers can alleviate scrotal contraction, a condition many men find uncomfortable and aesthetically displeasing.
But why opt for scrotal enhancement?
Our patients consider this treatment for several reasons:
- A small Scrotal area: Some patients may have reduced testicle size, resulting in a penis size that doesn't 'match' or proportionally align with the scrotal area size. Moreover, some individuals might desire a greater 'mass' in this area, and the filler material, accompanied by subsequent collagen production, can provide this enhanced size and sensation.
- Tight Scrotal skin: Highly constricted scrotal skin can cause discomfort due to pressure on the testicles and create a smaller, shrunken appearance. Adding filler to the scrotum helps counteract the intense muscle cell contraction of the scrotal skin, enabling the skin to relax and appear significantly larger.
- Loose Scrotal Skin: If you have particularly lax skin and the testicles appear to hang lower than desired, injecting filler into the scrotal skin can tighten up loose skin and address the issue of excessive 'hanging' by inducing contraction.
