Is Penile Enhancement a Painful Procedure?

Is Penile Girth Enhancement a Painful Procedure?

As you likely know, the penis is an incredibly sensitive body part, so if you’re considering increasing your penis size, you’re probably wondering if the procedure is painful.

Luckily for you, the answer is… No!

That’s right. Many men are surprised to learn that penile girth enhancement is a relatively painless and comfortable procedure to increase girth.

At GetMoreGirth, we pride ourselves on just how comfortable and painless our girth enhancement procedures are. How do we manage it? The secret lies in a combination of numbing techniques and post-care procedures.

Pain Control Before Your Dermal Filler Penile Girth Enhancement Procedure

Topical Numbing Cream

Before the procedure starts, a strong numbing cream is put on your penis. At GetMoreGirth, we put a thick layer of anesthetic cream on the penis, which makes the skin numb. We leave the cream on for 20 to 30 minutes to let it absorb into your skin and make sure you are completely numb.

Dorsal Penile Block

After applying the numbing cream, Dr. Sullivan does a dorsal penile block. He puts lidocaine, a local anesthetic, next to the dorsal nerves of the penis. It only takes two small shots on the top of the penis, close to the base.
The dorsal block gives you more anesthesia than just the topical cream, which means that most men feel nothing during the procedure.

Dermal Fillers

The dermal fillers used to make the penis bigger, Volux and Voluma (both HA, or hyaluronic acid type fillers), already have lidocaine in them. As Dr. Sullivan performs the procedure, more anesthesia is being put into your penis, which makes the procedure even less painful. The filler and the anesthetic used before the procedure work together to ensure the procedure is painless. The anesthetic in the filler also works for several hours after the procedure to control any post-procedure discomfort.

Pain Management After Your Dermal Filler Penile Girth Enhancement Procedure

Minimal Pain

The procedure is designed to cause very little pain after it is done. There are no cuts because it’s not surgery; just a few needle sticks. Think about the last time you got a needle, like a flu shot or a blood draw. In general, a simple needle stick doesn’t hurt much, and that’s all you need to do to get fillers.

Any pain or discomfort will only last a few days. There is only a little soreness as the body heals and the filler settles in. Most patients say they feel completely normal by the end of the first week.

Lastly, the anesthesia before the procedure lasts for a few hours, which makes you feel more comfortable during the time when you might be in the most pain.

Compression Dressing

After the procedure, a compression dressing is put on the penis to help with swelling and to smooth out the filler. The dressing applies gentle yet firm pressure to the area, helping reduce pain after the procedure. Patients wear the compression dressing for a week to help them heal faster, but it also helps with swelling, bruising, and pain.

Over-the-Counter Pain Relief

We tell patients to take over-the-counter pain relievers like Tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen if they still feel pain. These drugs can help with minor pain, and some, like ibuprofen, can even lower swelling. Most patients don’t even need over-the-counter pain relief.

If you do have pain that over-the-counter painkillers don’t help, you should tell Dr. Sullivan right away, as this could be a sign of an infection or another side effect.

So… Does Penile Girth Enhancement Hurt?

No! Dermal fillers for penile girth enhancement are minimally invasive, which means they are usually well-tolerated and cause little pain. Using topical numbing creams and a dorsal block makes it almost painless. After the procedure, you might feel some pain, but it’s mild and can be treated with over-the-counter pain relievers.
