Who doesn’t want a bigger, thicker penis? We would all do it if it were perfectly safe right? At GetMoreGirth (GMG), we only use FDA-approved fillers including Voluma, Volux and Bellafill, all three are FDA approved and have long safety records.
Understanding Girth Injections
To understand the safety of the procedure you first must understand the procedure itself. Girth enhancement with dermal fillers involves injecting the fillers to increase the thickness or girth of the penis. The fillers are injected into a potential space in shaft of the penis. This space has room for expansion so injecting filler there adds volume and makes the penis thicker. The results are instant and additionally there is minimal downtime post procedure.

FDA-Approved Fillers
At GetMoreGirth (GMG) we use only FDA approved fillers. Fillers that have been proven to be safe and effective through the FDA approval process. Although the fillers are FDA approved It is important to understand that the fillers are being used in an off-label manner. At GMG the HA fillers we use are Voluma and Volux These fillers are made by Abbvie one of the most well-known and respected is pharmaceutical companies in the US. Key to their safety is that they are completely reversable. Voluma and Volux can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. The other filler type we use is Bellafill, Bellafill is a PMMA type filler is FDA-approved for the correction of nasolabial folds and acne scars. At GMG we use it in an off-label fashion for penile girth augmentation. These are some reasons you should use only FDA approved fillers. Non-FDA approved fillers have not undergone rigorous testing, so there is little information about adverse reactions, infections, and long-term issues. Non-approved fillers may contain unknown and unsafe ingredients. Treating complications from non-FDA approved fillers is difficult because the treating physician does not know exactly what is in material that was injected. If you travel overseas for treatment, you may be using fillers that may not be approved in the US. Even worse some practitioners in the US use “proprietary” fillers. Essentially that means they are not willing to tell you what they are using, and it is almost a certainly that these “proprietary” fillers have never been properly studied. This should be a big red flag for any patient after all you want to know exactly what is being injected into your body. Don’t trust any one who want to inject a substance into your penis if they are not complexly up front about what they are injecting.
Treatment Out of Country
If you are considering being treated outside the US please consider these things first. Most countries have less stringent medical regulations and a safety monitoring as compared to the US. Additionally, American physicians undergo 8 years of training post college. They are licensed by the state where they practice and if see a board-certified physician, like Dr. Sullivan, is they have had rigorous training and have had to pass multiple certification exams. Foreign physicians in most cases do not receive such advanced education. Also consider If complications arise outside the US there is likely no legal recourse for you. Proper follow-up care is another ingredient to safety. Receiving treatment abroad complicates follow-up as it will be difficult to find a US physicians to take over your care if you have a complication after being treated out side the country. Finaly, safety can be compromised by language barriers leading to misunderstandings that negatively impact your care and thus safety.
Board-Certification
Many patients do not know what Board-certification is and do not understand why it is so important to see only Board-certified doctors. Board certified doctors undergo extensive training and testing in addition to meeting on going learning requirements. Board Certified Doctors through their extensive training have the expertise to handle complications, both major and minor that may arise. Certified doctors are accountable to medical boards and professional organizations, adding a layer of safety for girth injections. Girth injections are safer when performed in the US by board certified physicians using FDA-approved fillers.
